Our Team

      • James

        Jim Gebhardt, CFP

        President, Wealth Advisor
        • As our President and Chief Investment Officer, Jim’s first priority is to establish a trustworthy relationship with those who seek his guidance in planning for their future prosperity. His mission is to protect his clients’ assets and to manage each portfolio with discipline. As an advisor and financial planner he is in demand for his creativity and unbiased thinking. He continually fine-tunes his listening skills and withholds judgment, thereby enabling him to offer calmness in times of uncertainty and hope during periods of distress. When it comes to legacy planning, Jim is sought out for his ability to guide clients through a systematic process of identifying “true wealth” so clients may integrate that information and values into a comprehensive family plan.

His wife, Beth, and he are proud parents of four young children, who inspire them with wonder and foster a healthy sense of humor and adventure. His associates view him as a professional. Whether on the golf course, at work or with his family, Jim keeps his feet firmly planted on the ground, his eye on the ball and his heart in the right place.

Jim’s strategic leadership is valued by clients, peers and business associates. In particular, families seek his counsel during times of major transitions, and a wide range of organizations value his contributions to the cultural fabric of the community through charitable giving.

Jim holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of Rochester, New York. He is an experienced surety bond underwriter, which makes him familiar with the unique issues associated with the construction industry. For the ten years prior to founding Gebhardt Group, Jim worked as a Financial Consultant for Merrill Lynch and Smith Barney, and in the process earned the Certified Financial Planner™ certification.

He holds a State of California Insurance License for Life, Accident, Disability and Health Insurance. His registrations include Series 7, Series 65, and Series 31.

        • Coaching is Matthew’s passion. He is obsessed with challenging the status quo and teaching others how to do the same.  Matthew has developed a unique belief system about money and true wealth that runs completely counter to the Wall Street culture he was raised in.  His unique ability is to inspire people to live abundantly and authentically.  Whether Matthew is helping a family define and protect their true wealth, or he is guiding other wealth advisors to discover their own value proposition, or he is teaching the youth in his community about life through the great games of baseball and basketball, Matthew shows up and gives it his all each and every day.

As a Principal and Wealth Advisor of Gebhardt Group, Inc., Matthew provides wealth management services for families experiencing major life transitions (e.g. inheritance, sale of a business, death or divorce of a spouse, planning for retirement, career change, or sudden loss of a job).

Matthew is also the Co-Founder and Chief Marketing Officer of our online 401k advisory service, 401k Masters, LLC.  He leads our team in our Sacramento-area office.

Matthew is a volunteer umpire and baseball coach for his local little league. He also served for eight years on their Board of Directors.
