      • James

        Jim Gebhardt, CFP®

        President, Wealth Advisor
        • Jim grew up in a small town outside of Syracuse, NY where, as a young boy, he learned from his parents that his word and his handshake would mean everything.  To this day, Jim honors that tradition and carries it into every relationship he has. As our President and Chief Investment Officer, Jim’s first priority is to establish client relationships built on trust. He does this by investing enormous amounts of time into learning about the values, beliefs, hopes and fears of all of our clients. Jim has developed a unique ability in offering calmness in times of stress and hope during times of uncertainty. Jim’s mission is to have meaningful impact in the lives of his clients by helping them simplify the complexities of their lives.

Jim has become a thought leader in financial services, often sought out for his ability to guide clients through the financial, estate, and legacy planning process. He has co-created a systematic process of identifying “true wealth” for clients called the Wealth FORMation Experience™ (WFE). WFE creates a blueprint which helps clients integrate their core personal principles into their day-to-day financial lives.  His industry views him as a “pros pro”, having coached so many professionals in the financial services industry (that’s how he met his business partner, Matthew Grishman).  Jim’s strategic leadership is valued by clients, peers and a wide range of organizations who value his contributions to the cultural fabric of the community through charitable giving.

Jim and his wife, Beth, are the proud parents of four children.  Their children inspire them with wonder and foster a healthy sense of humor and adventure.  Whether at work with his clients, at home with his family or on the golf course, Jim keeps his feet firmly planted on the ground, his eye on the ball and his heart in the right place.

Jim holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of Rochester, New York. He is an experienced surety bond underwriter, which makes him familiar with the unique issues associated with the construction industry.  For the ten years prior to founding Gebhardt Group, Jim worked as a Financial Consultant (FC) for Merrill Lynch and Smith Barney, and during his tenure as an FC, he earned the Certified Financial Planner™ certification.

Jim holds a State of California Insurance License for Life, Accident, Disability and Health Insurance. His registrations include Series 7, Series 65, and Series 31.

      • Matthew

        Matthew Grishman

        Principal, Wealth Advisor
        • Matthew is on a mission to be the most disruptive money influencer of his time. Matthew has developed very unique beliefs about money and relationships that are completely counter to the Wall Street culture in which he was raised. He is obsessed with challenging the status quo and conventional thinking, especially as it relates to the three most significant relationships in life; your relationship with yourself, your relationship with people, and your relationship with money.  This obsession drove Matthew to write the book, Financial Sobriety: Rebuilding Your Relationship with Money One Step at a Time.  Since coaching and teaching are Matthew’s great passions, he’s created an educational curriculum and a podcast series based on the principles in Financial Sobriety.  His dream is to teach millions of people how to live more intentionally with their money, how to build lasting trust in the relationships that mean the most, and how to forgive and love the person in the mirror.  When you work with Matthew you will experience a pro that shows up early and prepared, does what he says, and gives it everything he’s got. You will feel a level of relationship where you know Matthew’s got your back.

Matthew began his career in financial services in 1995 with A.G. Edwards & Sons, Inc. and became fully licensed as an Investment Broker in 1996. He spent 17 years as a national spokesperson for large mutual fund and insurance companies (Lord, Abbett & Co, Putnam, and MetLife).

Matthew left corporate America in 2011 to devote his time and experience in financial services to his family, friends and neighbors.  In 2014, Matthew joined Gebhardt Group, Inc., an independent Registered Investment Advisor.  He became an owner of the firm in 2015.

As a Principal and Wealth Advisor of Gebhardt Group, Inc., Matthew provides wealth management services for families experiencing major life transitions (inheritance, sale of a business, death or divorce of a spouse, planning for retirement, career change, or sudden loss of a job).

Matthew, his wife, Amie, and their two sons, Miles and Lucas, live in Rocklin, California. When not working with clients, Matthew spends his time tending to the fruit trees in his backyard, and exploring amazing places with his family, like Yosemite National Park, the California Coast, and big cities around the world. Matthew has been a baseball and basketball coach in his community for many years.

Matthew received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Sociology from the State University of New York at Albany in Albany, New York in June of 1994.  He holds a State of California Insurance License for Life, Accident, Disability and Health Insurance. His registrations include Series 65.
